Black Friday Madness

So I watched the news and heard that two people got shot and killed in a Toys R Us somewhere in california and a worker got trampled to death at a walmart in New York. That is so ridiculous. Do people always get killed on black friday or is it happening more this year? That's sad that people got killed...is any sale really worth your life? Come on people!

On a brighter note, I spent approximmately $150 dollars. I bought CHOKE stuff for myself and for people on my Christmas list :) I am helping the economy through consumerism. I went to the premium outlet mall, same owner as the one in Waikele. There were amazing sales. Pac Sun and Aeropostale had a 50% off everything in the entire store. We stood in line at Pac Sun for like 3 hours only to be dissapointed when we got inside and the line for the cashier was not moving at all, so we decided not to buy anything elOh did I mention that I and Sara's family got to he mall at 12 in the morning and got back at 7 in the morning? :) That was the first time I did that in my life and it was really worth it. When we got back at 7 we crashed, woke up at noon, ate and then off to Target to do more shopping. I got a ton of good deals at Target and was gonna buy a $10 vaccuum, but realized it would be a great hassle to lug that back on the train to Santa Clara. Though I did buy a pink Brita water filter (its supports breast cancer foundation) and very nice flats. Then off to the dollar store where I bought some random things such as a Christmasty contraption that you hang on your door handle. Christmas is almost near. I cannot wait to go back home & see my family and all of you guys! I am really excited for Christmas this year for some reason. I just remembered that I have finals right before break starts. >_<

Today at Target I saw some kosher pickles. I don't understand what makes them kosher.

I <3 THANKSGIVING :)

I 'm already adding on the pounds!
Yesterday our dorm had a thanksgiving feast and I had lots of turkey (dark meat of course yum!) cranberry, baked potato, mashed potato, pasta salad, green bean casserole, and cookies, and truffles and apple pie. YUM! I cant wait for real thanksgiving :)! Anwyays today, I offficially declared my major and minor. I also am planning on going to see Twilight tonight with a couple of people. Hopefully we can get a ride from someone.
I 'm pretty excited since tomorrow I am going to take the Amtrak up to Sacramento to visit Sara Nishijima. Three hour train ride -__- im gonna finish reading some books. Prettty excited since I havent seen her in 2 years!! Sacramento's pretty much white county supposedly, so she's been warning me about not being surprised about being the only Asian on the bus.....haha!

Mood: Exhausted

I don't really like school right now. I'm not sure if its because I miss home or if its because of the work or if its some other reason. Ahhh I want to sleep for an entire day. I feel overworked, yet I'm here in the library right now. I just ate a turkey wrap and am now waiting for my chemistry lab group to arrive so we can get started on our lab report. I have no idea wtf happened in this lab, so I believe we are going to be here a long time tonight. We mixed some solutions and weighed some precipitates and goshh. I'm just ranting right now to....relieve stress? I don't really want to do anything right now.... Three more days till thanksgiving break ^_^ I don't think I've looked forward to any break more than this one.
I've been thinking about the future and what I want to do with my life. It is what fills my idle time. I realized that if I go to medical school I will be away from home and my family for an extremely long time. I don't know if I can handle that. I do not know if its worth it. Well they are here g2g!

Winter Quarter Classes

Since you all are talking about the future and classes and stuff, so will I. So next quarter I'm taking Calculus IV, General Chemistry II w/ lab(grrrr), some history class called WEstern Civilizations, English I Honors, and possibly international Economics. I think that I pretty much decided that I'm going to major in bioengineering with a minor in Economics, then go to med school to get my M.D. It makes me frustrated when my mother tells me not to become a doctor since I am a girl and I will have to work too hard, but I really don't want to settle for less. I mean being a civil engineer is OK I guess, but it just seems like a secure career path. I don't think it would be something that I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life. Anyways, I'm still undeclared in the school of engineering, but it's just a matter of filling out a piece of paper and getting some signatures from department heads now.

Sea Otters: my new favorite animal!

I would like to dedicate a post to sea otters (scientific name: Enhydra lutris) as I have nothing that exciting worth mentioning in my life at the moment. Sea otters are a keystone creature in the marine ecosystem. They feed on shellfish, such as abalone, and other marine invertebrates including small octopus. Their predators include killer whales, sea lions, and humans. They were once extremely endangered. There were like 1,000 or 2,000 of them but now there are over 150,000 sea otters alive. They inhabit the coastal regions of the Northeastern Pacific Ocean. They spend most of their time in water and can hold their breath for up to 5 minutes. They have two layers of fur that is not only water repellent, but traps warm air bubbles to help them stay warm. One of the more unique aspects of sea otters compared to other marine mammals, is that they have no blubber. Their skin is extremely light weight, and the trapping of air bubbles helps them keep afloat in the waters to allow them to groom, eat, and even sleep.
They even hold hands! (sooo cute! thanks for showing me this video nicole)

So you may be wondering how I know all this information, and its because I had to do a paper on them this weekend for my Introduction to Physiology Class :)
